Greetings to our great non-profit organizations. In this article, we will guide you through power platform connectors.

 

Connectors are the Power Platform components/tools which enable you to create apps and flows that easily connect to other services in the cloud.

A Power Platform connector is an interface around all the necessary APIs and API provided by an application or service which allows information to be passed back and forth and there are more than 900 connectors available within Power Platform and the popular connectors include Salesforce, Office 365, Twitter, Dropbox, SharePoint, SQL Server.

Connectors can provide input and output between the data source and Power Platform. So, there are two types of data sources that are tabular, and function based which Both data source types are used to bring data to your solutions.

 

Types of Connectors

 

Standard Connectors: Standard Connectors are connectors which are used for all the licensing plans. So, you can utilize Standard Connectors in Microsoft Power Platform. Some of the standard connectors are SharePoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and YouTube

Premium Connectors: Premium connectors are connectors which require additional licensing for your app and users. The main advantage of premium connectors is that they allow you to connect to a larger number of services such as SQL Server, Survey Monkey, and Mail Chimp.

Custom connectors: A custom connector is a bridge around APIs which allows you to connect your apps with external web services or external data sources such as Azure. The connectors work by sending information back and forth across these APIs. An advantage of building custom connectors is that they can be used in different platforms, such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure Logic Apps.
