Importing data is the process of retrieving data from external sources, spreadsheets, databases, or other systems. You’ll probably want to import the data into Microsoft Dynamics CRM. So, you can keep track of all your customer information in one place. You can import any type of information, such as accounts, Contacts, leads, and opportunities. There are pre-build templates for data import are available into Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM that could be found under Settings > Data Management > Templates for Data Imports that allow you to import data from anywhere in the CRM system. Microsoft Dynamics CRM downloads a ready-made template with columns that represent the data fields you want to enter. In addition, you can create custom templates if the existing templates in Dynamics CRM Online do not meet your needs. A very notable inclusion by Microsoft is a duplicate detection feature that flags data that looks like a copy of information already in the source, which may actually be separate customers with the same name or different locations of a single customer. Instead of deleting duplicates, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online asks the user whether one or more records should be deleted.
